Logic Pro 11 is one of the music production industry’s leading DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations.) It is also one of the most affordable.
As of today Logic Pro 11 costs £199 in the UK, $199.99 in the US, €199.99 in Europe and AU$329.99 in Australia.
Furthermore it is a one-off payment - there are no additional fees to upgrade unlike Logic’s biggest rival Ableton, or an ongoing membership fee like with Pro Tools.
With Logic Pro there is only 1 tier - the complete package with all plugins and effects included. However, with Ableton and Pro tools there are basic, intermediate and you will need to purchase the advanced tier to gain access to all plugins.
Logic Pro price compared to other DAWs full tiers:
Ableton 12 Suite: £539 in the UK, $750 in US, €499 in Europe and AU$959 in Australia.
Pro Tools Ultimate: €589 Per Year in Europe and $599 in the US.
FL studio: £469 in the UK and $449 in the US. (Free upgrades.)
Reaper: £50 in the UK and $60 in the US. (Free upgrades.)
As you can see Logic is one of the most affordable DAWs out there. Unfortunately it is not free! However, Garageband (Logic Pro's baby brother) is and available from the App Store! Reaper is the only cheaper popular DAW of this calibre but it also doesn’t contain any stock virtual instruments or a sound library like Logic Pro does.
Therefore if you are interested in learning music production and already use a Mac, I strongly recommend Logic Pro 11 as the best choice available.
